The Office of the Legal Adviser of Melaka is established under the Attorney General's Chamber of Malaysia. The office is responsible for the:

  • to advice the State Government of Melaka on all aspects of law
  • Drafting of laws for the State of Melaka and for it to be Gazetted
  • Prosecution of all criminal cases
  • Representation of the Government in all civil cases
  • to revise and reprint Melaka State Enactment 
  • Provision of legal advice in all aspects of administration, and the relationship between state and federal governments as well as the private sector
